The International is one of several Dota 2 tournaments – high-profile, Valve-sponsored tournaments that offer Dota’s biggest prize pools. The others are the Manila Major, DreamLeague Season Six, ESL One Genting, and The Summit Seven.

The Manila Major is the first of three international Dota tournaments this year. Valve, the company that created Dota and organizes these tournaments, calls it “the biggest tournament in the world.” 16 top Dota teams from all over the world will compete for a prize pool of over $US three million. The tournament will take place in Manila, Philippines from May 31 to June 12.
The next international Dota tournament is EPICENTER, which will take place in Moscow, Russia from October 17 to 23. Ten teams in Dota 2 Tournaments will compete for a prize pool of over $US one million.
The biggest Dota tournament of the year is The International Dota 2 Tournaments. This tournament takes place in Seattle, Washington from August 08 to 13. The prize pool for this year’s tournament is over $US 18 million. Sixteen teams will compete for the title of world champion and the largest share of the prize pool.
