The African safari is certainly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, but you really can double down on that at Kenya’s Giraffe Manor in the country’s capital of Nairobi. It’s taking an exotic break to the next level, with the beautiful 1930s manor spreading over 140 acres. It’s a truly luxurious place to stay and perfect for the likes of honeymoons or landmark birthdays.

Ever fancied staying a staggering 508ft below ground? Well you can in The Silver Mine Hotel, officially the world’s deepest hotel room. Located in a 17th century silver mine, the hotel is one of the most unique on the planet and you can enjoy a tour of the mine simply reaching your room.
There are stunning spiral staircases that lead to cavernous halls, as well as some exquisite dining areas and underground lakes. It truly is a marvel. Located in Sala, about an hour and a half’s drive from Stockholm, it’s well worth heading out of the capital to spend a night or two at.
